What is the FMCSA?

FMCSA stands for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. It is part of the DOT. Its primary aim is to improve the road safety of commercial vehicles, and minimise accidents.

Duties include researching, developing, testing and enforcing safety standards for vehicles and drivers.
