What is a CMV?
A CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle) is defined as a vehicle (generally over 10,000 pounds GVW) used for business, transporting product or people between states. All vehicles transporting hazardous goods (whether interstate or not) also need to comply. For the most up-to-date information please refer to the official DOT website.
Compliance with DOT regulations, including obtaining a USDOT number, is required for any fleet operating CMVs.
